About Me

Diana Hutchison has Honours in Psychology from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma in Coaching Psychology from Sydney University, and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling. With more than 15 years’ counselling experience, she was compelled to specialise in grief and loss following her mother’s death in 2011. After this loss, she undertook further training in grief and loss counselling.

Now based in South Australia and in her own practice, Diana Hutchison has often found herself frustrated by the limits of traditional counselling. Driven to offer the best therapeutic service possible for her clients—she set out on a journey to design an integrated therapeutic program of mental and emotional healing.

Distilling this experience of counselling a diverse clientele, she began to design a new delivery method of healing programs that could offer both flexibility and accessibility.

New You Creations was born.

The Deeper Dive

Hello, I’m Diana. How this all came about is through my own struggles.

I have a background in psychology and around 18 years ago I found myself struggling with anxiety, and losing a sense of purpose in my life. This was due to burnout, and even as a psychologist, I realised I had not been practising self-care in the way I should. I then decided it was time to take action and place self-care practices into my life, and so took a very long break.

Ten years ago, finding myself recovered, and having experienced the death of both my parents over time, with my mother’s death being the most recent, I decided to go back to helping people but in a new direction. I studied and later qualified in grief and loss counselling. Over the last 7 years I have been counselling individuals, and for the last 5 years I have been running face-to-face grief and loss support groups.

During this time, I have gained much positive feedback from participants and have now packaged the content of my face-to-face groups into the online programs on this site that you can enrol in and complete from the comfort of your own home, at your own pace.
